Manx National Rally

A 12 strong contingent of Members and friends of Mull Car Club descended on the Isle of Man at the weekend to run two stages on the Manx National Rally.
Thursday was spent setting up the Curraghs stage whilst on Friday most of the team were helping out on other stages while the Stage Commander and Deputy Stage Commander tweeked the stage ready for Saturday.
There were a few incidents meaning the second run of the stage was in jeopardy but we managed to rescue the situation and get everyone through with only a minute spare till road open time.
A great team effort from everyone covering Arrival, start and flying finish timing along with several instage posts.
There was also time to do some sight seeing and the obligatory curry and beer.
Next up for the team is the Jim Clark Rally in two weeks followed by Crail Summer Stages and Argyll Rally in June.
Get in touch if you would like to join us.

Jenny Reddaway

On Monday 31st January we the club lost a very great stalwart to that horrible disease MND.  Jenny was a very special friend to us all and had been a member of the car club for nearly 20 years and most of that time as secretary to the club and directors.  She was active brain wise right up until the end which came as a shock.

She coveted the chairman’s cup presented to her by our previous chairman Fred Maclean.  This will continue this year.

Jenny leaves a son who was her chief carer who asks as many club members as possible who wish to pay their respects to come to Tobermory Parish Church (next to An Tobar) on Monday 14th February at 6pm.  This is a public event so all are welcome and dress is informal.
